◆The UI Explained: Navigating Your Workspace
Creation OS uses a cinematic spatial layout designed to keep you immersed in your story. Everything you need lives in three zones.
›1. The Left Panel: Chat and Character
The left panel is your primary interaction space during play.
The Adventure Chat
This is where you and the narrator tell the story together. Type what your character does, and the narrator responds with narrative, consequences, and the world's reaction.
@Mentions - Type @ to reference a specific character, location, item, or scene. This focuses the narrator's attention on exactly what you mean.
Suggested Actions - After each narrator response, contextual action chips appear below the input. These are narrative suggestions, not commands. Use them or type your own.
Character Sheet
Your character's profile, health, conditions, and stats. Updates automatically as the story progresses.
Property Management
If you own businesses or establishments in the world, a property card appears in the left panel showing your manager, condition, and quick actions.
›2. The Centre Panel: The Narrative Feed
The centre of the screen is reserved for the story itself.
The Adventure Feed
A flowing narrative of everything that has happened. Your messages and the narrator's responses form a continuous story, segmented into chapters.
Chapter Markers
After roughly 50 turns, you are invited to seal a chapter. This compresses the narrative into a titled summary while preserving everything important. Chapters keep long stories manageable and give the narrator clear memory anchors.
The Dice Button
When the narrator calls for a roll, a button appears. Click it, and the result is sealed - the narrative is written before the number is revealed. See Rolling the Dice for the full system.
›3. The Right Panel: The OmniCodex
Press Q to open the OmniCodex - a spatial drawer that slides from the right edge. This is your command centre, organised into three pillars.
Identity
- Profile - Your character sheet, stats, and conditions
- Abilities - Spells, skills, and special powers
- Loadout - A 3x3 equipment grid showing your nine gear slots with rarity-coloured borders
World
- Waypoints - Every location you have visited
- Contacts - Every character you have met, with relationship history. Nemeses are pinned to the top.
- Factions - Organizations, their members, and your standing with them
- Properties - Your businesses, forges, and establishments with inline management
Saga
- Objectives - Active quests with step tracking
- Story Arc - The narrative trajectory of your story
- Key Facts - Important discoveries and world truths
- Chapters - Summaries of sealed chapters
- Saves - Manual checkpoint system
Universal Search
A search bar at the top of the OmniCodex filters across all sections simultaneously.
Q - Toggle the OmniCodex | E or C - Jump to Properties | G - Open the Guide | Spacebar - Quick action | Escape - Close any open panel
›The Spatial Effect
When any panel opens, the narrative feed scales back slightly and blurs. This is intentional. You are either reading the story or managing your world. Never both at once. This keeps the experience focused and cinematic.
