◆Action Costs: Quick Reference
Creation OS operates on a fixed, predictable economy. You never have to guess how much a prompt will cost, and you are never charged for hidden operations or word counts.
Use this guide as a quick reference to optimise your Spark usage during a session.
›Play Mode (Smart-Routed)
The engine automatically adjusts the depth of its reasoning based on what you are doing. Casual conversation is handled quickly and cheaply, while combat, crafting, and forge turns draw on deeper processing for mechanical accuracy. The routing is invisible to you, but the Spark cost reflects the complexity of the action.
| Action Type | Description | Spark Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Play Turn (Standard) | Casual RP - exploration, dialogue, rest, travel. Routed automatically for speed. | 3 Spark |
| Play Turn (Deep) | Combat, crafting, forge actions, dice rolls, skill checks. Routed for deep mechanical reasoning. | 8 Spark |
You don't choose the processing depth - the system detects the complexity of your action automatically. Casual exploration costs less because it needs less processing. Combat and crafting cost more because they need deeper reasoning for accurate mechanics.
›World Creation, Art Forge, and Character
| Action Type | Description | Spark Cost |
|---|---|---|
| World Creation | Generating a complete new world with locations, factions, history, characters, and quests. Your first world is free. | 30 Spark |
| Art Forge (Portrait) | Forging a portrait for a character, location, faction, or ability. All new accounts receive 2 free generations. Pro subscribers receive 10 free per month on top of that. | 10 Spark |
| Art Forge (Item) | Forging an icon for an inventory item or piece of equipment. | 5 Spark |
| Stat Reforge | Editing ability scores, HP, AC, or level on an existing character. Limited to 3 reforges per character. Cosmetic edits (name, backstory) are always free. | 8 Spark |
| World Snapshot | Regenerating a snapshot of your world's current state for the codex. | 5 Spark |
The cheapest way to play is to lean into roleplay and exploration (3 Spark/turn). Save your combat and crafting turns for when they matter narratively. A 2-hour session of mixed play typically costs 100-250 Spark depending on how much combat you seek out.
