The OmniCodex: Your Command Center

Everything your character knows, owns, and has accomplished lives in one place. The OmniCodex is a spatial drawer that slides in from the right edge of your screen, giving you instant access to your full character profile, world knowledge, and story progress without leaving the narrative.

Press Q on your keyboard to toggle it open or closed. Press Escape to dismiss it.

1. Three Pillars

The OmniCodex is organized into three vertical pillars, each covering a distinct layer of your adventure. Select a pillar from the top navigation, then browse its sections below.

Your character's personal details, capabilities, and gear.

  • Profile - Character overview with stats, conditions, and current location.
  • Abilities - All your spells and active abilities in one unified list. Learned spells appear as purple bubbles, while item-granted abilities appear in amber. Both are usable directly from the tray.
  • Loadout - A 3x3 equipment grid showing all nine gear slots. Hover over any slot to see a detailed tooltip with the item's name, rarity, stats, and bonuses. Empty slots stay dim so you can spot gaps at a glance.

2. Universal Search

A search bar sits at the top of the OmniCodex. Type any keyword and it filters across all sections instantly, whether you are looking for a contact by name, a specific quest, or a piece of gear buried in your inventory. No need to remember which pillar something lives under.

3. Equipment Grid

The Loadout section under the Identity pillar displays your gear in a 3x3 grid mapped to nine body slots: Head, Chest, Legs, Feet, Weapon, Offhand, Hands, Amulet, and Ring.

Each filled slot shows the item's rarity through color-coded borders and tooltips. Empty slots remain dim, making it easy to spot gaps in your defenses.

Effective Stats

Your equipment bonuses are not just cosmetic. Your true, gear-modified stats are factored into every roll and narrative outcome. The OmniCodex always shows your effective values with equipment modifiers applied.

4. Forge Management

If you own a property with a forge, the Properties section in the World pillar lets you manage production without leaving the codex. You can view your resource stockpile, check active production queues, and see your assigned workers.

Each worker displays a skill card with their current level and experience progress bar. Workers gain passive experience from every recipe they help produce, and higher-skilled workers craft faster and have a chance to produce higher-quality results.

Quick Forge Access

Press E or C on your keyboard to jump directly to World > Properties, putting your forge controls one keystroke away.

5. Nemesis Display

Characters flagged as nemeses get special treatment in the Contacts section. They are pinned to the top of the list and visually distinguished with a red border and threat indicators.

Expanding a nemesis card reveals their full intel dossier: archetype (combat, rival, or schemer), threat level, grudge summary, encounter history, and known bonds to other entities in your world.

6. The Spatial Effect

When the OmniCodex slides open, the narrative feed behind it gently scales down, creating a subtle depth effect. This keeps the story visible in the background while the codex takes focus, so you never lose your place in the conversation.

7. Keyboard Shortcuts

These shortcuts work from anywhere in Play Mode:

  • Q - Toggle the OmniCodex open or closed
  • E or C - Open directly to World > Properties (the Forge)
  • G - Toggle the Guide panel
  • Spacebar - Quick action shortcut
  • Escape - Close the OmniCodex
Shortcut Hint

The first time you enter Play Mode, a brief onboarding tooltip highlights these shortcuts. After you dismiss it, the hint will not appear again across any of your worlds.
